Anastassia Meskova
Hi! My name is Anastassia (Nastya) Meskova. I was born on the 13th of February 1995 in Tallinn, which is the capital of Estonia. Estonia is a little bit bigger than the Netherlands and is often called a small country with a big heart. And it really is! Despite being born and raised there, my mother tongue is Russian, but I can also speak Estonian fluently. Moving to the Netherlands for studying is new and challenging experience for me. I have never been so far away from home for so long, but I do enjoy it so far. My family is the biggest value for me and also the greatest support in my life. I have a younger sister who is 13 now and the cutest ever Labrador puppy whom I miss a lot! Sport has always played an important role in my life and I have started sporting at quite young age. I have been doing rhythmic gymnastics for 8 years and I had to quit because our group split up. After that, I started taking up flat water kayaking classes and was quite successful in that. But after three and a half years I understood that I needed something different. That is how I became a cyclist and I am extremely happy about it, because now I feel that this is exactly what I need and I have finally found what I have been looking for. So I do not regret doing all the other sports before, I am very satisfied with what I have now. My greatest achievements in cycling so far were the two second places on the Estonian National Championships, in the individual time trial and also the cross-country mountain bike sprint. And as we all know, sky is the limit so there is still much to achieve! So, my sport-oriented goals for the nearest future are to run a marathon and to learn how not to drown, in order to start doing triathlon. I am currently a student at ISMB (International Sport Management & Business) and I hope that it would help me in achieving my career goals in the future.
